Stored NAV history 738 points, 01 Sep 2023 → 04 Sep 2026

Data, not advice. These pages show NAV history, category and computed returns as published by AMFI, so funds can be compared side by side. StockProof does not rank funds, does not score them, and does not recommend buying, selling or holding any of them. Past NAV movement is not an indication of future returns.

Fund names here are CURRENT names, not the name the fund had on the date shown. AMFI retroactively restates historical scheme names to whatever the fund is called today: its own April 2006 file lists schemes under "Nippon India Mutual Fund", a fund house that did not exist until 2019 (it was Reliance). Measured on 2026-08-29, all 1,947 scheme codes present in both AMFI's 2018 and 2026 files showed zero name changes — not because renames are rare in the Indian fund industry, but because the history is rewritten. StockProof stores and shows only the current name and does not attempt to reconstruct point-in-time names, because AMFI publishes nothing that would make that possible. The NAV figures themselves are as published for each date and are not restated.

Long-window returns are measured only over funds that still exist. Of the 1,790 scheme codes AMFI priced in April 2006, only 568 (31%) were still being priced in 2026. Funds that closed or merged are not in a long-period comparison, so any group of surviving funds looks better than the choice an investor actually faced at the time.

Benchmark & AUM

Benchmark, benchmark return and AUM figures on this page are AMFI's own published disclosure — the same SEBI-mandated benchmark every fund must declare and report against, sourced from AMFI's Fund Performance data. StockProof does not compute the benchmark return itself: it shows the number AMFI and the fund house publish, exactly as published. StockProof does not rank funds or benchmarks by this figure, and this is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

This section is matched to the scheme above by FUND NAME, not by scheme code or ISIN — AMFI's benchmark-disclosure API carries neither, unlike its NAV files. Measured 2026-08-29 across the whole universe, this name match succeeds for about 86% of funds; most misses are small spelling or punctuation drift between AMFI's own two systems, not a wrong match — a fund with no match here simply shows no data rather than another fund's. One disclosed row also covers BOTH the Regular and Direct plan of a fund together, because that is the granularity AMFI itself publishes at — one level coarser than the per-plan scheme codes StockProof otherwise tracks.

Fund vs benchmark

Regular and Direct are the plan's own trailing return; Benchmark is the same window's return on the declared benchmark above, as published by AMFI. A window is blank when AMFI has not published it for this fund, most often because the fund has not existed that long.

WindowRegularDirectBenchmark
1 Year -1.89% -1.56% -1.46%
3 Year 8.38% 8.76% 8.97%
5 Year 8.13% 8.64% 8.88%
10 Year 11.10% 11.80% 12.23%
Since launch 9.31% 11.62% see below

"Since launch" benchmark return is shown per plan, not as one column above — the Regular and Direct plan of a fund can launch on different dates, so each is benchmarked over its own window: Regular 10.29%, Direct 12.08%.

Holdings X-ray

These holdings are the fund house's own SEBI-mandated monthly portfolio disclosure, read from the file the AMC publishes and shown as published. StockProof does not estimate, model or infer a single holding. The portfolio is a SNAPSHOT on the date shown — usually a month-end — and a fund can and does trade in between, so what it holds today is not necessarily what is listed here. Nothing on this page ranks funds, scores them, or recommends buying, selling or holding anything.

StockProof can only link a holding to a company page if that company is in the Nifty 500 universe it tracks. Everything the fund disclosed is listed here either way — holdings outside that universe are shown with their real names and weights and counted explicitly as "outside tracked universe", never dropped. Two coverage figures are given because they can differ enormously and either one alone is misleading: the share of holding LINES that link, and the share of disclosed WEIGHT that links. Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund is the standing example — under half its lines link, but around three-quarters of its weight does, because its unlinked positions are a handful of very large US holdings.

Coverage varies enormously by fund type and low coverage is a fact about the universe boundary, not a defect. Large-cap, flexi-cap and index funds typically X-ray at over 90% of disclosed weight; small-cap funds fall to roughly 44–75%, because much of what they own sits below the Nifty 500; and a pure debt fund links at zero, because bonds are not companies in StockProof's universe at all. Read the coverage figure before reading the holdings: at 45% coverage the listed companies are a minority of the fund.

The disclosed holdings usually do not add to 100% of the fund. The remainder is cash, TREPS, repo and derivative margin, which the AMC reports without a security line. Weights here are the AMC's own "% to NAV" figures, so they are shares of the WHOLE fund and can be added up directly — but the total falling short of 100% is normal and is shown rather than scaled away.

Holdings are matched to companies by ISIN — the security's own permanent identifier, never by name — so a matched company is the security the fund disclosed and not a guess. The FUND itself is matched to this page by NAME, which is weaker: measured 2026-08-30 across 625 portfolios, that name match succeeds for about 91% of funds, because the AMC's file carries no AMFI scheme code. A fund with no match simply shows no holdings section rather than another fund's. One disclosed portfolio also covers every plan and option of a fund at once, since that is the granularity the fund house publishes at.

How much of this fund StockProof can show

Of the weight the fund disclosed, tracked 98.7% 98.4% of NAV, out of the 99.7% the fund disclosed in security lines
Of the holding lines disclosed, tracked 96.0% 48 of 50 positions. This can differ sharply from the weight figure above — a few very large untracked holdings move one and not the other.
Outside StockProof's tracked universe 2 1.3% of NAV — listed in full below with real names and weights, never dropped
Not in any security line 0.3% cash, TREPS, repo and derivative margin, which the fund house reports without a security line

Portfolio as disclosed by NIPPON INDIA INDEX FUND - NIFTY 50 PLAN on 31 Jul 2026, read from the fund house's own published file (sheet NF). The unit check passed: 99.69% of NAV over 50 lines is consistent with 'fraction'.

Every line the fund house disclosed is listed above, in the order it weighs. Weights are the fund house's own "% to NAV" figures, normalised to a percentage of the whole fund; they are not rescaled to add to 100%.

Active share & tracking error

Active share (Cremers & Petajisto, 2009) is half the sum of the absolute difference between this fund's disclosed weight and the benchmark proxy's disclosed weight, security by security. Tracking error (Roll, 1992) is the annualized standard deviation of the daily difference between this fund's return and the proxy's, over the days both have a stored NAV. Neither is a rating or a score; both describe how much this fund's actual holdings and returns differ from a portfolio that simply held the benchmark.

StockProof has no official total-return index (TRI) data — the price feed it stores tracks an index's PRICE only, which understates a real TRI benchmark by roughly its dividend yield. Instead, both figures are computed against another fund: an index fund that tracks the same benchmark, whose own NAV already reflects reinvested dividends and whose own disclosed portfolio stands in for the benchmark's constituent weights. Measured directly: two different index funds on the same benchmark differ from each other by only 2–3 basis points a year of tracking error — two orders of magnitude below any actively managed fund's real figure — which is what licenses using one as a stand-in for the true benchmark. This proxy is hand-picked and verified for 24 declared benchmarks; a fund benchmarked to anything else shows no active share or tracking error, not a guessed one.

Tracking error is computed over whatever NAV history both funds actually share, which is genuinely short — AMFI's history file starts no earlier than April 2006, but the DEPTH stored here reaches back only to around September 2023, roughly three years, well short of the five-year-plus history stock pages elsewhere on this site commonly show. The exact window and day count are shown beside every figure so it is never mistaken for a longer, more settled estimate.

Higher active share means this fund's holdings differ more from the benchmark proxy; lower means they resemble it more closely. Neither direction is automatically better or worse — it depends on what the fund is being held for and whether that difference is deliberate stock-picking or an accident of the universe boundary this data can see. The same is true of tracking error: a fund built to closely track its benchmark should show a low one, while a genuinely active fund is expected to show a higher one by design. This is descriptive, not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and nothing on this page ranks or scores funds against each other.

A single day whose NAV changes by an implausible amount — almost always an unrecorded corporate action such as a unit split, not a real market move — is detected and the whole tracking-error figure is withheld for that fund rather than shown corrupted by one bad day. Active share is unaffected by this check: it comes from the fund houses' own disclosed portfolios, not from NAV history.

Benchmark proxy: Motilal Oswal Nifty 50 Index Fund — a Tier-1 index fund tracking Nifty 50 TRI, standing in for the benchmark itself (see the note above on why).

Active share 0.0% 50 of this fund's own holdings vs 50 of the proxy's, both as disclosed 31 Jul 2026.
Tracking error (annualized) 0.04% 737 common trading days, 01 Sep 2023 → 04 Sep 2026 — a materially SHORTER window than the multi-year history stock pages on this site commonly show.
Tracking difference (annualized) -0.40% This fund's own annualized return minus the proxy's, over the exact same window above — positive means this fund outran the proxy over that window, not a forecast of the next one.

NAV history

NAV as published by AMFI for each date. No corporate-action adjustment is applied or needed — an IDCW payout is carried by a separate scheme code, not by restating this series.

Returns (CAGR)

Compound annual growth of NAV over each trailing window, computed from stored history with the same function the company pages use. A window is only shown as a number when the stored history genuinely reaches back that far — it is never computed over a shorter span and labelled as the longer one.

WindowCAGRBasis
1-year -2.76% NAV 33.0169 on 04 Sep 2025 to 32.1075 on 04 Sep 2026 (1-year, AMFI)
3-year 7.65% NAV 25.7358 on 04 Sep 2023 to 32.1075 on 04 Sep 2026 (3-year, AMFI)
5-year N/A Stored NAV history starts 01 Sep 2023, which does not reach back a full 5 years from 04 Sep 2026.
10-year N/A Stored NAV history starts 01 Sep 2023, which does not reach back a full 10 years from 04 Sep 2026.
Since stored history begins 7.80% NAV 25.6139 on 01 Sep 2023 to 32.1075 on 04 Sep 2026 (3.0 years stored, AMFI)

"Since stored history begins" is deliberately not called "since inception" — AMFI publishes no NAV before 1 April 2006, so for an older fund its true inception NAV is not in any public AMFI feed.
